The Saints of God

The saints of God, not made or sanctioned by a religious system, or by works, are the believers of Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. A person sanctified; a holy or godly person; one eminent for piety and virtue.

Paul addresses all of them in His letters. He writes to the saints in a particular region.

All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

Philippians 4:22

Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he also came down to the saints who lived at Lydda.

Acts 9:32

…to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:7

Today is Saint Patrick’s Day, celebrating his love and commitment to the Lord. The saints of God are our brothers and sisters born of the Spirit. Paul writes to all who are beloved, called saints. Those who have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are His saints. They are not made by man nor man’s criteria.

To be canonized, “CANONIZE, v.t. [from canon.] To declare a man a saint and rank him in the catalogue, called a canon.

Once again religion and man’s tradition minimize the work of the Holy Ghost in the people of God. Men like Patrick are saints without canonization, which creates a hierarchy and a spiritual class. There have been multitudes of great faith demonstrated by the saints of God.

Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection; and others experienced mocking and flogging, and further, chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented (people of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, on mountains, and sheltering in caves and holes in the ground. And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

Hebrews 11:35-40

They all have gained approval by God because of their faith, and we too who walk by faith are being transformed into the image of God’s Son Jesus Christ. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10

These are the saints of God. Hallelujah!

Earthquake Relief Trip into Aleppo, Syria

We are excited to share this report from Nuna at TM Lebanon. When you give to Syrian Earthquake relief here, 100% of the funds will be given to this effort.

Give to earthquake relief today

Trip Into Aleppo

On the 6th of feb 2023, the day of the earthquake, as I was looking at the news that was coming out of Turkey and Syria, I watched with horror the destruction, the injured, the dead, and I thought, we should go there. We should help. When we shared that we’re going to go, I was pleasantly surprised that so many people wanted to join us in going to Aleppo. We formed a small group and started our drive towards Damascus as a first stop. We only took some baby formulas, some milk packs and some water purifiers tablets and filters and headed up the snow caped mountains on icy roads.

We started off by going to Jaramana to visit the church there, the community center and learn how the earthquake impacted everyone. We met people who were displaced because of the war trying to gather from their little belongings to send to the earthquake area, we met people who are looking for ways to volunteer and cook for newly displaced families who are taking refuge in Jaramana.

The level of fear and of despair was quite high. We spent the night in Jaramana in a convent where it was freezing cold, with no electricity, and no heating. The second day we rose up early to start our travels towards Aleppo. The drive is 4 hours and a half. The first major city we crossed was Homs and even after 8 years of being freed from ISIS, Homs is still a mix of death and life. Streets and whole neighborhood are still destroyed and the rubble has not yet been removed. It seemed like time was frozen there.

We continued our drive from there and for more than a hundred kilometers we saw village after village along the way toward Aleppo completely deserted. Not a single soul was anywhere to be seen. Just grey cement houses with no doors, no windows, full of holes and completely inhabitable. These villages were taken by ISIS, people had to flee and fierce combats was happening there. If it wasn’t for the Russian coming to the rescue with airplanes, I think ISIS would still be there.

During this trip I understood so much of the refugees situation. The people who fled to Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. When I used to talk to some of them I would encourage them to go back and the common response is: “What will I go back to? My house is completely destroyed!” And now I can say that I am a witness that even if people really wanted to go back to one of those villages in the countryside of Aleppo, and even if they decided to repair their home, there is literally no one there. No electricity, no shop, no neighbors, no school, no business, nothing. The whole country is in need of rebuilding. Going on with our trip we reached the city of Aleppo. The city is divided between areas under the Syrian government and areas controlled by rebel groups. We were shocked to see that life is going on as usual for many of the residents there (restaurants filled with people, hotels filled streets crowded) though hundreds of thousands are homeless. On the night of the earthquake at 4:17 am everyone rushed to the streets in their pyjamas in spite of the rain and freezing cold . people took refuge in schools, churches, mosques. Then little by little people started to return to their homes if their houses were not too badly damaged. The destruction in the government controlled areas is not as bad as the one in the rebel areas. We could not visit those areas as we are forbidden to do so.

We also learned that the humanitarian aid is also not allowed to cross to the rebel area. People had to try to rescue family members with their bare hands, with no help, and no heavy machineries to support them removing the rubble. There is a lack of everything in those areas. Children do not have access to milk, food is extremely expensive and the level of destruction is quite high.

Most of the buildings that were destroyed during the earthquake were so because of several factors. The first is that the buildings were already damaged because of wars, missiles and bombs, the second is that because of economics, some people are now building with not enough steel or a very bad quality of cement, the third is that basic civil engineering principles are not put in place where some people chose to remove a pillar to get extra space or build a 3 story building when the foundations are designed for one.

This does not lessen the fact that hundreds of thousands are now left without homes and are depending on aids . We’ve seen people living on the streets and trying to warm themselves with a fire on the sidewalk, some who are living in the back of a van, some in shelters and schools and all suffer to survive.

One of the huge problems is the lack of fuel. People are allowed 20 liters every 25 days , and at a certain point in December, schools universities and administrative offices had to close down for a week for lack of transport. Electricity is rationed and people have 2 hours of power a day. On the brighter side we’ve also visited a communal kitchen serving 10000 meals a day. The communal kitchen has set their operations in the front yard of a cemetery. And we even got the opportunity to help out with the preparation of a meal. We also visited many churches who are doing an amazing job trying to provide for people, trying to provide a shelter, food, or any kind of assistance. The outcome that we came up with after assessing the ground is that the main need that is not really covered is baby formula, diapers, food and of course shelter.

We have made contacts with many people /ministers on the ground who are already working and we could partner with them to make those distributions to chosen beneficiaries.

For those of you who would like to support the work in Syria please DO NOT SEND funds to the TRUST BRIDGE FUND as we cannot receive any fund that is assigned to Syria there.

However, TMM and pastor Keith has offered to receive funds for us that are assigned to Syria. These donations will be tax deductible. Please contact me directly for more information.

Much love,
Nuna

The Promise of the Holy Ghost

Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer
Here by Thy great help I’ve come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here’s my heart, oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
John Wyeth & Robert Robinson

The Promise of the Holy Ghost, the precious gift as prophesied by Joel, given by the Father and Son. In every generation I believe there is a Pentecost, as we are seeing, to your children and your children’s children.

He is poured out and the praises of the Father and Son are shouted and break forth in His people. Those who are thirsty drink from God’s eternal fountain where every blessing flows from the river of God. The songs of praises to our God cannot be contained. Streams break forth in our hearts — it cannot be contained. The heart is freed from things of the earth and ascends into Heavenly places.

What is happening in this time is what Peter said in his generation: “This is that which Joel prophesied.” Repent, be baptized, and receive ye the Holy Ghost and save yourself from this corrupt generation. Let Your fountain fill us to overflowing and flaming tongues break forth.

Thank you Holy Ghost for taking our hearts and sealing for thy courts above. Thank you Jesus for your continual promise. Keeping your word that endures forever to every generation.

Healing Testimony from Lebanon

We received a wonderful testimony of the power of God in demonstration from the team at Triumphant Mercy Lebanon.

My mom just got healed after four spine surgeries and chronic back pain. Jesus is the true healer — keep believing. Many people have witnessed this.

Recently a medical team from the USA was refused entry into Turkey. They had come to minister there with medical equipment and medicine. By the Sovereign leading of the Holy Ghost they met up with Triumphant Mercy Lebanon, Nouna and Nisrene, and the believers in Beruit. They set up a makeshift medical clinic at the center and began to minister medically to many people who came.

Nisrene’s mother, who has had multiple surgeries, and has difficulty walking, came to the center. While Dr. Sherry was caring for her she prayed for her. The Holy Ghost came on her and heard her. She jumped up and shouted for all to hear: “I’m healed, I’m healed!” She began to move about freely.

Nisrene was treating a Muslim lady who looked at her and said, “I want what she got!” Nisrene prayed for her and shared Jesus with her. Many people were prayed for and were asking to receive Jesus.

Hallelujah!

God at work, labor of love

I received this wonderful Valentine Card from my beloved  wife Betsy. Maybe the most impactful card I have ever received. Celebrating our golden anniversary this year; 50 years with this beautiful gift from God. When I opened this card, I was overwhelmed with the simple truth — God is love — and the greatness of love.

It was not surrounded with flowers, birds, bugs, butterflies, hearts, hugs, and kisses. All beautiful expressions, romantic, euphoric, and sweet. This card gives us the truth concerning, “the two shall become one.” This is truly a picture of what the Scripture speaks of when it speaks of love as labor.

The architectural design of our faith, Jesus Christ our bridegroom, is love. Paul, inspired by the Holy Ghost, writes, “Love builds up, love never fails, love believes all things, and without love, who and what is being built is nothing.” Jesus, when asked what is the greatest commandment, replied, “Love the Lord thy God with ALL your heart, ALL your strength, and ALL your might, and your neighbor (is there not anyone closer than our wives) as yourself.

Love is not just an emotion, as Tina Turner sang, but takes strength and might. It is necessary to labor, or work. Our covenant is a continual construction zone, the process of becoming one does not have a completion until death doth us part. In our vows, “I will and I do,” commit us to do the work. Jesus says, I will build my church (bride), it will be built to last, nothing will prevail against it.

Betsy’s Valentine message to me: love is built to last! Maybe a good wedding gift to give to a bride and groom would be two hard hats. Caution, you are entering a hard hat zone. God at work, labor of love.

All things work for good to them that love the Lord and are called according to His great purpose — work.

Thank you my beloved gift from God for your never failing labor love. I am yours and you are mine, everlasting in love. Hallelujah.
